Project Spotlight: 630 Feet of Fence
There’s something about a new fence that can completely change the way a backyard feels.
Recently, our AnchorPoint Landscaping crew completed a large wood privacy fence installation for a homeowner in Rincon, Georgia. The project included approximately 630 linear feet of 6-foot-tall wood privacy fencing—enough to completely redefine this backyard and give the homeowners the privacy they were looking for.
It was a big project, but the finished result is exactly why fence installation has become one of the outdoor projects we love taking on.
Creating a Backyard That Feels More Private
For this homeowner, one of the biggest goals was simple: more privacy.
Without a fence, even a large backyard can sometimes feel surprisingly exposed. Neighboring properties, roads, and surrounding activity can all make an outdoor space feel a little less like your own.
A 6-foot privacy fence changes that almost immediately.
Once this fence was completed, the backyard had a clearly defined perimeter and felt
much more secluded. Instead of simply marking where the property ends, the fence helped turn the yard into a more intentional outdoor space.
And privacy isn't the only benefit.
A new wood fence can also create a great backdrop for landscaping, help define areas for kids or pets, provide separation between neighboring properties, and give the entire backyard a more finished appearance.
Building More Than 600 Feet of Fence
At approximately 630 linear feet, this was a substantial installation.
With a fence this long, consistency matters. A small difference in the placement of one post or section may not seem significant on its own, but those differences can become much more noticeable as the fence continues across hundreds of feet.
Our crew worked section by section, setting posts, checking measurements, keeping everything level, and installing the individual fence boards.
It’s the kind of work where the details happening during installation determine how the finished project ultimately looks.
And while the finished fence is obviously the part everyone notices, some of our favorite photos from this project are actually the ones showing the process—the drill driving in a fastener, a level against a post, concrete ready for setting posts, and our crew working their way down the fence line.
Those are the details behind the finished product.
Why Wood Privacy Fencing?
Wood remains a popular choice for backyard privacy fences, and it's easy to understand why.
It provides substantial coverage without looking out of place in a residential landscape. The natural wood also pairs well with the greenery, mature trees, and established landscapes we see throughout the Savannah area.
For this particular property, the height and scale of the fence provide plenty of privacy while the wood keeps the backyard feeling natural.
As the wood ages, the appearance will continue to change, and homeowners also have options for staining or sealing depending on the look and level of maintenance they prefer.
More importantly, the new fence gives this homeowner a foundation for whatever they want the backyard to become next.
Landscaping along the fence line, new planting beds, an outdoor entertaining area, or simply a quiet backyard with a little more separation from the world around it—it now feels like a defined space to make their own.
One Project Can Change the Whole Property
One of the reasons we enjoy projects like this is that you don't always need to completely redesign a property to make a significant difference.
Sometimes it's a new landscape bed.
Sometimes it's cleaning up an overgrown area, adding fresh mulch, or replacing plants that aren't working anymore.
And sometimes it's 630 feet of new fence.
The finished fence gave this backyard an entirely different feel. It's cleaner, more defined, more private, and provides a finished boundary that wasn't there before.
For us, that's ultimately what good landscaping and outdoor property improvements should do: make the property work better for the people who actually live there.
